Royal Marine Commando Adam Robert Brown was born in Yateley, Hampshire, England UK on 25th February 1985. On the 1st August 2010 he was tragically killed in action whilst serving in Afghanistan, he was just 25 years old.
One of Adam's dreams was to own a beach hut at Mudeford near Christchurch where he spent many a childhood holiday . In his words " It is a very special place ".We have now started a fundraising campaign to purchase a beach hut so that we can fulfill his dream ".Adam's Hoofing Hut " will be an extraordinary memorial to an extraordinary young man and will be used by Marines families and friends in need of a quiet place to relax and reflect. Adam enriched the lives of those he came in contact with and we know this hut will do the same. We are truly grateful for any donations and support you can give and thereby helping us make Adam's dream become a reality. If you would like to take part in an event to raise funds please do contact Julia for a sponsorship form. julia@adamshoofinghut.com

April 2023 celebrates 9 years of Adams Hoofing Hut at Mudeford Sandbank. As proud owners of Adams Hoofing Hut we can't thank each and every person enough for the amazing effort that everyone has given to make this possible none of which could have been done without everyone's love and support. Thank you so much again xxxx

Mike's Update:

               Update October 2013

‘Adam’s Hoofing Hut Fund’ currently stands at a just over £131,000. This has been raised in under 3 years by Adam’s family and friends. It has enabled us to buy a beach hut but there is still a long way to go in order to reach the target of £160,000 which is needed to complete the refurbishment.

Adam’s family has been busy making beds, a ladder for the upper level, blinds and mattress covers, a new kitchen and painting the interior. We are proud to announce that the hut will be ready for its first Royal Marine family as soon as the new season opens.

By doing the work ourselves, more of the fund has been kept in order to completely renovate the hut as soon as we have the funds to do so. This will mean we can make the hut accessible to wounded Marines and their families.

The Ely Charity Challenge

eIt's that time again…………

For those of you that know who we are and what we have done for Adams Hoofing Hut, you know we are NUTS.  For those of you that don’t know who we are, we do something mental once a year for charity.

In 2012 we rode over 450 miles on pushbikes from Edinburgh to Camberley.  We had to overcome punctures, bad weather conditions and mile long hills. In 2013 we rowed a small 1 man sciffing boat down the Thames from Lechlade to Greenwich, having to deal with broken oars, holes in the boat, the chance of drowning and a KILLER swan!

So what is this years challenge I hear you say???

Well... we have decided to run the distance of just under 5 marathons, back to back over 4 days.  We will be starting at The Dartbridge Inn Hotel in Buckfastleigh and finishing at The Ely Hotel in Yateley.  And yes...we will be running all 127 miles just to amuse you! WE ARE NOT BUILT FOR RUNNING!!!!

Adams Hoofing Hut is a charity close to our heart's here at the Ely Hotel as Adam lived and worked here before he joined the Marines.  This is why we push ourselves to the limit, to raise money for such a great cause!

This year we are raising money for both Adams Hoofing Hut and for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.

A note from Helen & Chris Davis.

Just to confirm that we have today transferred £1000 to Adam's Hoofing Hut. This donation is the profit from the concert by Britannia Strings (all members were ex members of the Royal Marines Band Service) held at Otterbourne Village Hall. I hope that it will help you to continue your great work in supporting Royal Marines and their families in Adam's name.

Wishing you every success in the future

best wishes

Helen and Chris Davis

Adam's Uncle Mike is at it again. He and his friend John are canoeing the length of the Thames in aid of the Hut! He would like to mention CW Motorcycles who have just sponsored the entry fee of £150.00to enter this Easters Devizes to Westminster canoe race. This is a message from Mike originally placed on Facebook. To all my friends and old shipmates. Over the last 3 years you have all helped our charity, Adam’s Hoofing Hut, raise nearly £134,000!! A staggering amount of money in such a short time! We are really hoping that this ...year we will be able to raise the last £26,000 to get to our final total of £160,000. Yet again this Easter weekend I will be undertaking the gruelling Devizes to Westminster Canoe Marathon, a race paddled over 125 miles, portaging 77 locks along the route all nonstop!! As an added bonus this year I have my mate John, a serving Royal Marine corporal in the canoe! Great as he will not give in, but bad because I will have to try and keep up with his stamina!! John is raising money for The Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund and I will be trying to raise a bit more towards Adam’s Charity. If you decide that you would like to help us with the price of a couple of pints for these two great charities then please go to our respective pages, or if you are feeling really generous then please go to them both.http://www.justgiving.com/Amy-Tardelli-Brown and for John, http://www.justgiving.com/John-DWRace A huge thank you this year to Mike and Paul Robbins for their help building our own canoe. To Dave and Wally and all the team at CW motorcycles for sponsoring us for our entry fee and to Andy and Phil for re-spraying the hull ready for the race.

The November concerts (Bovington Tank Museum 3rd November 2018 & New Milton Memorial Centre 11th November 2018) are part of Questa's First World War centenary events - the first half of the concert is an abridged version of Sir Karl Jenkins' enormously popular mass for peace "The Armed Man", the second half is our version of the Last Night of the Proms! At every concert we support a chosen charity and this year our Christmas concert in Bournemouth on 1st December will be in support of Adam's Hoofing Hut - Mudeford Sandbank Hut 246.
