Well done Peter on 21 years

of 10km Fun Runs!!

10km Results May 1st 2016

The 10km Results below are 1997 to 2015

Putting up all the results has made me think of all the participants we have had over the years which has made our little event such a special one. Everyone with a story behind them. Everyone with a reason to take part. Whether it be training, in memory of a loved one, raising money for worthwhile causes through sponsorship or a bet in the local the night before! Or just for fun! We live in such a beautiful part of the world.

Below are a few words about one particular participant. A special man!

Brian Fuller, (above) he was a busy man!
He told me once he tried to do something different every day. I think he probably succeeded!
Brian was a founder member of Fordingbridge Rugby Club, bringing with him a wealth of ability having played to a high standard for London Irish. His enthusiasm for life knew no bounds. He put more into one day than some people do a whole life. His list of interests was prodigious;
Running, again at a high standard, Fishing, Golf, Crosswords (while doing The Telegraph he was helping others with The Times),
Pool (although this was possibly an excuse to go to The Crown) to name just a few. Cycling became his staple diet, always endeavouring to get better at every turn.
Whilst Captain of Bramshaw Golf Club he raised thousands of pounds for charity with his Mid-Summer's Day activities i.e.
10 rounds of golf in one day or cycling between 21 golf clubs, playing a hole at each, with a late detour to the Beaulieu Road Inn for ‘a quick one’ so that he would arrive back at Bramshaw at the correct time.
His veterinary skills were legendary and there can be few families in the area who have not had use of them at some stage.
His social life was equally as full and I am sure that his “dancing” will be an abiding memory with everyone. Many a dance partner whisked off her feet in his own interpretation of a whirling dervish.
This effervescent and charismatic man still had time for his family. His equally effervescent wife, Sue, their son Tom and daughter Emma have shown true Fuller grit and would ask everyone to celebrate the life of an exceptional man.

The funeral took place at St Mary’s Church, Fordingbridge on Tuesday 20th May at 2.00pm. Over 500 people attended!

1st Firefighter home 2003 Marcus Gater from Cranborne. His trophy Presented by Cheif Fire Officer Malcolm Eastwood. A man amongst men!
